You think you’ve just had a great date and want to see the other person again. However, you feel that calling them right away might appear too eager. You also think waiting too long might seem like you don’t care. You tell yourself that you have to play it right and this delicate matter requires careful thought and exact maneuvering. So the question becomes what is the correct amount of time to wait before you make that call?

Answer: You are thinking way too much. “The rules” tell us that you should wait at least three days before calling. What a load of horse #*@! The people who made up the “waiting rule” are clearly insecure and don’t have a clue as to how to get into an honest, successful relationship. If the other person is interested in seeing you again then they will be eagerly waiting for you to ask them out again right away. Ask yourself this question, “Would I rather get into a relationship that is based on mind games and manipulation or would I rather be in a relationship with someone who is excited to get my call?” Now sometime you call and they are not as interested in you as you thought and that stings, but at least you will know right away and won’t torture yourself by playing pointless mind games that really never work.
Finding the right person for you is not about playing mind games, it’s about connecting with someone authentically. Building a solid foundation starts in the beginning, so when you bring your most authentic self from the get go you create a space for the relationship to grow. So get off your butt and pick up the freakin’ phone!
